Michael Cusack Day

at the Michael Cusck Heritage Centre

Michael Cusack Day has been celebrated since 2020 at the Michael Cusack Centre to honour his birthday on 20th September 1847. It’s a wonderful community day of music, storytelling and commemoration of Michael Cusack and his wonderful legacy to the Irish people. The event is held on the nearest Sunday to the 20th September each year.

Samhain Púca Storytelling Festival

The annual Samhain Púca Storytelling Festival was launched in 2022 to welcome the Púca to his new home at Poll a’ Phúca (“The Lair of the Púca”) at the Michael Cusack Heritage Centre. The event timing also coincides with Púca Day and the founding of the GAA by Michael Cusack on 1st November.

Step into the world of the Púca at the Samhain Púca Storytelling Festival! Returning for its fifth year on the 23rd to 25th of October 2026. This festival brings Irish folklore to life with a spellbinding mix of storytelling, academic talks, workshops and traditional music.

All events are ticketed and available through this website. Tickets are limited for each event, so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
