We are located in Carron, a small rural village in north Co. Clare, in the core of the stunning Burren. Situated in the Fáilte Ireland region, there are so many wondrous and unique things to see and do in the area. Walks & Trails
The local area is renowned for its many stunning viewpoints of the Burren, the captivating Carron Valley drive and, last but not least, Mullaghmore Mountain. Carron has many Burren walks and trails and it is full of Irish history, culture and heritage. If you plan a day trip to Co. Clare, be sure to include the compelling Carron area on your to do list!

LOCATION
Archaeology
Carron has an abundance of archaeology dating back to the megalithic period including tombs such as The Poulnabrone Dolmen dating from b.c.3600. This portal dolmen is an impressive example of the monuments early farmers constructed over the graves of their dead. Cahercommaun Stone Fort, c.500-1500AD, is an outstanding example of Celtic Ring Forts which were built to protect large extended families and their farms. Temple Cronan is a 12th century medieval church with intriguing features such as the carved grotesque Romanesque heads found on the exterior wall.
