TOURS

An Púca

The intriguing Púca statue is resplendent in our Cusack garden. Inspired by Irish folklore, the 2-metre tall bronze public art piece sculpted by award-winning artist Aidan Harte arrived with great anticipation at his new home at Poll a’ Phúca (The Lair of the Púca) in 2022. On this tour you’ll get to hear the stories of his mischievous ways and get to rub the big toe of the Púca to bring 7 years of good luck. This is a also a wonderful photo opportunity.

It’s said that if you catch him in the right mood, the Púca tells fortunes and grants wishes. Many people ask if the Púca is good or bad. We suggest you meet him and decide for yourself!

  • I would really recommend this visit to any GAA enthusiast. It was humbling to visit the actual home that one of the founders of the GAA who met in Hayes’ Hotel in Thurles in 1884 grew up in and went on to found the association.
