Camán to the Burren

first Friday of each summer month

Camán, was designed in response to the voice of the young people who were consulted in both Limerick and Clare and was delivered in close partnership with Music Generation Clare and GoingWeLLClare. Camán brought young people into the heart of the Burren to experience a range of creative pursuits in the open air, throughout the months of summer Songwriting, hurley making, visual art, learning the Cú, all formed part of a day that allowed young people to absorb their cultural heritage at the Michael Cusack Centre and the “Burren Outdoor Education Centre”.

  • I would really recommend this visit to any GAA enthusiast. It was humbling to visit the actual home that one of the founders of the GAA who met in Hayes’ Hotel in Thurles in 1884 grew up in and went on to found the association.
