DRIVING
INSTRUCTIONS
From Dublin to Carron
Take the N4 westbound from Dublin City Centre. Continue on to M4 following signs for The West, Galway and Sligo. After 30km approx. go through the toll plaza onto M6. Follow the signs for Galway. Turn left off the M6 motorway onto N6 and follow signs to Galway until you reach Oranbeg roundabout , Oranmore. Take the 3rd exit onto the N18 to Kilcolgan (approx. 8 km) turn right onto the N67 (signposted Ballyvaughan). Continue on this road through Kinvara for around 20 km until you reach the main turn off to the left for Carron village (signposted) –
Follow the ascending road (Corker Hill) and drive for around 14 km. On the way you will pass the haunting Corcomroe Abbey to your right hand side, and a few miles after to your left, Gleann Ciosóg, the home of Michael Cusacks GAA club. You will reach Carron, the heart of Cusack’s Country, where 1 mile beyond this village lies the Cusack Homestead on the left hand side.
From Galway to Carron
Take the N6 from Galway towards Dublin, to Oranmore (approx. 5 miles).
In Oranmore take the N18 towards Limerick and continue until Kilcolgan (approx. 5 miles) turn right onto theN67 (signposted Ballyvaughan).
Continue on this road for around 15 miles to reach the main turn off to the left for Carron village (signposted)
Follow the ascending road and drive for around eight miles. to Carron, the heart of Cusack’s Country, where 1 mile beyond this village lay the Cusack Homestead on the left hand side.
From Shannon Airport to Carron
Leaving Shannon Airport take the first exit at the roundabout onto the N19 (signposted Galway). Continue to Shannon town roundabout and take the second exit (signposted Limerick, Galway N18). At the fourth roundabout (1.6km) take the first exit onto the N18 (signposted Ennis). After 12km branch left and take the first exit at the Killow West roundabout onto the N85 (Signposted Ennis). Continue on the N85 following the signs for Ennistymon. After 13km (approx) turn right onto the R477 (signposted Corofin). Go through Corofin and onto Kilnaboy and continue on this road (R477) until you reach Leameanh Castle on your right hand side. Take the right turn here onto the R480 (signposted Ballyvaughan). Continue on this road for 2km Approx. Take the right hand turn towards Carron. There is a signpost for the centre at this junction. Continue on this road for 3km approx., where on right hand side is the turn off for the Cusack Homestead. 500 metres down this road lies the Cusack Homestead.
